This site is dedicated to the City of Springfield’s Supplemental Water Supply Project and serves as a source for all National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA)-related public documents and project announcements associated with this project.
The City of Springfield applied to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) for a 404 Dredge and Fill permit for a supplemental water supply. In support of the Corps’ federal decision-making requirements, the Corps required the City to update the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) completed in 2000 and hire a third party consultant to complete this work. Amec Foster Wheeler Environment & Infrastructure, Inc. was selected by Corps and hired in May 2016 to prepare a Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (SEIS) on behalf of the Corps and the City of Springfield.
Amec presented an update to the Springfield City Council on April 11, 2017. To review their presentation, please

The public comment period ended in 2016 for this portion of the project.
We encourage residents to review the project’s FAQ.
